§ Mr. JoplingIn its consultation paper "Perspectives for the CAP", the Commission has expressed the view that some form of direct income support in agriculture might be introduced as a complement to the continuation of a restrictive CAP prices policy. The Commission has not yet made any specific proposals for income support. If it did so any resulting expenditure would be covered by the Council of Ministers' conclusions on budgetary discipline.
