§ 41. Mr. Kennedyasked the Solicitor-General for Scotland what was the number of proceedings instituted by procurators fiscal in Scotland for offences related to sheep worrying in 1984 and in 1985 to date.
§ The Solicitor-General for ScotlandProvisional figures for 1984 indicate that 130 persons were proceeded against for contraventions of the Dogs (Protection of Livestock) Act 1953. No figures are yet available for 1985. The provisions of the Act extend to animals other than sheep and it is not possible to determine which cases relate specifically to sheep worrying.
