§ 32. Mr. MacKenzieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the present provision of facilities for the care and treatment of the elderly mentally sick in Scotland.
§ Mr. YoungerI have urged health boards to give high priority to the development of mental health services including services for the elderly with mental disability and I am monitoring performance. The Scottish Health Service planning council has set up a working group to review, inter alia, recommendations concerning this group in the report "Scottish Health Authorities' Priorities for the Eighties" and to prepare revised guidelines covering the period up to 1992.
