§ Mr. Sternasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) when he anticipates that an appropriate repair scheme under the Housing Defects Act 1984 will be approved for Woolaway houses;
(2) when he anticipates that an appropriate repair scheme under the Housing Defects Act 1984 will be approved for Cornish unit houses.
§ Mr. GowPRC Homes Limited, a subsidary of the National House Building Council, has invited designers and builders to submit proposals for the reinstatement of PRC houses, designed before 1960, including the Cornish unit and Woolaway types. The NHBC has indicated that it will take about six weeks from receipt of the first applications for approval to be given. I hope that the first methods of repair for Cornish unit and Woolaway houses will be approved this autumn.
