§ Mr. Gordon Brownasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether in the "Reform of Social Security" it is proposed that an unemployed person who is aged less than 25 years with a partner and a dependent child should receive a lower rate of income support than a similar person aged over 25 years.
§ Mr. NewtonThe rate of personal allowance for a couple aged under 25 would be lower than for a couple aged 25 and above. However, the amount paid for each dependent child would be the same for each couple and, in addition, the same family premium would be payable.
