HC Deb 08 July 1985 vol 82 c357W
Mr. John David Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, pursuant to his reply of 1 July, what is the result of the monitoring of the scallop beds adjacent to the Northern Ireland coast since 1 June; and if he is still satisfied that there is no threat to these beds from boats based outside Northern Ireland.

Dr. Boyson

The monitoring indicates that the fishing effort to date is not excessive given the present state of the scallop stocks.
