§ Mr. Moynihanasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many inward investment missions from the inward investment unit of his Department have been carried out to (a) the United States of America, (b) Japan and (c) the continental European Economic Community in the last (i) three years and (ii) five years.
§ Mr. TrippierThe Invest in Britain bureau in ray Department does not carry out inward investment missions to overseas countries. Its main activities are, in consultation with diplomatic service posts and other promotional bodies in the United Kingdom, organising seminars and investment lunches and dinners overseas; dealing with individual prospective investors; United Kingdom coordination of inward investment promotion activities; and publicising overseas the attractiveness of the United Kingdom as a location for investment.
