asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on the current position with regard to the Talbot contract to supply car kits to Iran.

Mr. Butcher

I understand the Talbot Motor Company have signed an agreement with the relevant Iranian authorities for cash payments in respect of car kits and aim to re-start production at their Stoke plant on August 5.
