§ Mrs. ChalkerThe contract completion dates for the Wisley-Leatherhead and Leatherhead-Reigate sections are 5 and 26 August 1985, respectively. I shall decide when to open these sections after I have considered the views of the local authorities. I shall write to my hon. Friend in due course.
§ 26. Mr. Chapmanasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will report progress on the construction of the M25 motorway between the A1 and A41, including reconstruction work of the M1 motorway in this area.
§ Mrs. ChalkerAll four main contracts for this last section of the M25 are making good progress. In conjunction with the police, the contractors and the Hertfordshire county council, we are seeking to ensure that so far as possible work on those contracts does not add to congestion during the reconstruction of M1 junction 8 which begins tomorrow. I do not expect their completion to be affected as a result.
