§ 17. Mr. Heathcoat-Amoryasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will put exit signs to Cheddar on the M5 motorway.
§ Mrs. ChalkerOn 17 April last I announced a review of all direction signs, including signs to tourist destinations. We shall be looking at ways of providing better guidance to attractions such as Cheddar for the increasing numbers of tourists using the motorways. In the meantime I have asked my officials to discuss the possibility of signing Cheddar from the M5 with Avon and Somerset county councils.
