§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsThe Wales emergency committee was convened on Friday 12 January 1979 and meetings were held each day (excluding Sunday 14 January) until Thursday 1 February. The reasons were industrial action by road haulage and bakery workers coinciding with a prolonged period of severe winter weather. I have already referred in my answer of 15 January 1985 at column102 to a meeting held on 20 November 1984.
