§ 45. Mr. Corbettasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is satisfied that all the records held by the special branch of the Metropolitan police contain only necessary and relevant information, properly authenticated, and that there is an effective system of updating information and destroying information no longer related to the discharge of special branch functions.
§ Mr. Giles ShawThe Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis is aware of the provisions of the Home Office guidelines on the work of a special branch (issued on 19 December 1984) and my right hon. and learned Friend is satisfied that he takes all the necessary steps to ensure that they are complied with the Metropolitan police special branch, both as to the keeping of records and more generally.
