§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will take steps to ensure that Parliament is consulted before Her Majesty's Government suggest, or agree provisionally, any changes in the powers, responsibilities and relationships of existing European Economic Community institutions.
§ Sir Geoffrey HoweThe Ad Hoc Committee on Institutional Questions (Dooge Committee) is considering a number of ideas concerning the Community's institutions, including those in "Europe — The Future" (copies of which are available in the Library of the House). Member states are not however committed by the Dooge Committee. The final report of the committee will be considered by Heads of Government at the June European Council. Parliament will have an opportunity to consider any proposals for institutional change arising out of that report.
