§ Mr. Craigenasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement regarding the action of the Scottish Development Agency property division taking over the West of Scotland science park, Maryhill; and what consultation with Glasgow and Strathclyde universities took place beforehand.
§ Mr. Allan Stewart[pursuant to his reply, 28 January 1985, c. 117]: The SDA has been responsible for funding and managing the development of the West of Scotland science park since the park's inception. Following experience in running the park during its first two years of operation, and reorganisation of property activities within the agency, the agency has modified its internal arrangements for managing the science park. Representatives of the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde were informed of these changes in September 1984 and, I understand, have indicated their support for the new arrangements.
