The Home Secretary is concerned only with post mortem examinations ordered by coroners. Whether or not 230W a post mortem examination should be ordered in a given case is a matter within the discretion of the coroner concerned. We have no plans to recommend to my noble and learned Friend the Lord Chancellor any amendment to the Coroners Rules 1984.
