§ Mr. Foulkesasked the Prime Minister what investigations the Ministry of Defence carried out into the death of Flight Lieutenant Richard Thomas in an aircraft accident in January 1983; and if she will make a statement.
§ The Prime MinisterFlight Lieutenant Richard Thomas, who was on loan to the Chilean air force, died while flying a low-level training mission. Since he was flying one of their aircraft, the Chilean authorities investigated the circumstances of the crash. Their findings wer subsequently passed to the Ministry of Defence, which concluded that no further action was required.
