§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what interest rate is charged to the EEC when own resources payments are made in advance of the due date at the request of the EEC Commission.
§ Mr. Ian StewartInterest is not charged on the sums advanced to the European Community in respect of own resources payments. Since the EEC Commission's funds are derived directly from member states' contributions any interest they charged the Commission for making such advances would eventually have to be borne by them.
