§ Mr. Neil Thorneasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will consider the formation of a consultative body consisting of representatives of the trade unions, industry and his Department to co-ordinate the role of industry in civil defence.
§ Mr. ButcherA study to assess the essential requirements which industry could be called upon to supply for civil defence purposes, and industry's capability to meet them, is being undertaken. Until this study has been completed, it would be premature to consider the formulation of a consultative body on the lines suggested.
