§ Mr. McCuskerasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if the meaning of "ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom" referred to in the Student Awards Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1984 is the same as that contained in the decision of the House of Lords in December 1982 in respect of the Local Education Authority Awards Regulations 1979.
§ Mr. ScottYes, in the opinion of the Department of Education for Northern Ireland, and subject to any ruling in the courts. However, the eligibility requirements for mandatory awards set out in the Northern Ireland regulations are not the same as those specified in the Local Education Authority Awards Regulations 1979.
