§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has now received objecting to ratification by the British Government of the United Nations convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women.
§ Mr. RentonWe have received 18 such representations since the beginning of 1984 from private individuals, Members of Parliament and members of interested organisations. In the same period we have received 33 representations urging the Government to ratify the Convention.
