HL Deb 24 January 1985 vol 459 c438WA
Lord Avebury

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What changes in the prison rules are proposed following the decision of the court in the case of Anderson.

Lord Elton

Effect was given to the judgment of the Divisional Court inR. v. Secretary of State for the Home Department ex parte Anderson by Circular Instruction 48/1984 and the accompanying amendments to Standing Order 5, copies of which are in the Library of the House. No changes in the prison rules were required to give effect to the judgment, but we are considering the comments of the court about an apparent inconsistency between Rules 37(2) and 33(5).
