§ Mr. AncramGross allocations for investment in local authority housing since the financial year 1978–79, the first year in which such allocations were issued, are given in the table below. Figures giving the number of new dwellings completed by local authorities each year from 1974 to 1983 are published in "Scottish Housing Statistics 1983", a copy of which is available in the Library. It is estimated that local authorities completed 2,000 new dwellings in 1984; no estimate is available for 1985.
