§ Mrs. Ann Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what provision is made for National Health Service staff, both medical and non-medical, who have a conscientious objection to being involved in any techniques involving the implantation of human embryos into the wombs of other animals.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeSo far as I am aware, no such technique or procedure has ever been carried out in the National Health Service or in this country at all. There is no statutory or other provision covering the involvement of staff, but I am quite sure that no health authority would ever require any staff to take part in such a procedure.
§ Mrs. Ann Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many National Health Service staff have been, or are, involved in techniques involving the implantation of human embryos into the wombs of other animals.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeSo far as we are aware, this procedure has not been carried out at any centre in the United Kingdom.
