§ Mr. Frank Fieldasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish details of what steps he expects local authorities to take to follow up on the sale of houses following the gaining of house improvement grants.
§ Sir George YoungLocal authorities are responsible for administration of the home improvement grant system. Where sales breach the grant conditions specified in section 73 of the Housing Act 1974 (as amended by the Housing Act 1980) local authorities have discretion to recover some or all of the grant paid. DOE circular 21/80 gives further advice.
