asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list in the Official Report the names and former occupations of all general manager appointments made to date as a result of the Griffiths proposals.

Mr. Dobson asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether staff expected to undertake additional duties and responsibilities consequent upon the appointment of a general manager will be regraded.

[pursuant to his reply, 9 January 1985, c. 511]: The grading of an individual officer is a matter in the first place for the local health authority in the light of the agreements of the appropriate Whitley council. However, I do not expect any immediate regradings to take place of other staff as a direct consequence of the appointment of a general manager by an authority.
