§ Mr. Giles ShawBetween 14 March and 31 December 1984, aid provided by the Metropolitan police to other police forces in connection with the miners' dispute has amounted to some 204,000 man days.
During the same period, 11 complaints under section 49 of the Police Act 1964 have been received by the Metropolitan police against their officers arising from duties in mining areas.
