asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what has been the total cost of the Warnock committee of inquiry and of the publication of its report.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

The estimated cost of the inquiry is £194,000, the costs of publishing its report were borne by Her Majesty's Stationery Office, which will recover them through sales.
