§ Mr. HayhoeNo figures are yet available for public sector employment in 1984. Figures for 1983 as at the middle of the year can be found on page 101 of the March 1984 edition ofEconomic Trends. Numbers of staff at 1 July 1983 and 1984 in principal Government Departments can be found in summaries of the "Civil Service Quarterly Staff Returns".
