Mr. Faulds

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will publish in the Official Report the attendance figures for 1984 reported by the national museums and galleries in Scotland, broken down to the individual institutions but comprising their outstations, with figures in each case of the percentage increase or decrease on the attendance figures of 1983.

National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) 293,901 +52.6
Royal Scottish Museum (RSM) 563,063 -2.8

Notes:

The NGS are the National Gallery of Scotland, the Scottish National Gallery of Modem Art and the Scottish National Portrait Gallery (SNPG).

Since the SNPG share a building and entrance with the NMAS the attendances are included in the NMAS figure and not in that of NGS.
