§ Mr. Thurnhamasked the Secretary of Stale for Transport whether he will be using data collected by the Government's international passenger survey in 1984 to reassess the proportions of passengers with actual origins or destinations outside the South East of England.
§ Mr. Michael SpicerData on the origins and destinations of passengers are kept under review. The results of the international passenger survey for 1984 will be available by mid-1985 and will provide useful information, indicating areas of longest stay for foreign passengers, and for United Kingdom passengers their home by planning region. Civil Aviation Authority surveys provide information on the origin and destination of terminating passengers at the major United Kingdom airports. A survey was carried out in 1983 at Manchester, Birmingham, East Midlands and Liverpool airports, and in 1984 at the British Airports Authority's London airports and Luton.
