Mrs. Fenner

I am replying on behalf of all my colleagues to whom this question has been addressed, since my Ministry provides the secretariat.

During its first year of operation the Food Advisory Committee has concentrated on progressing the various tasks that it inherited from its two predecessors, the Food Standards Committee and the Food Additives and Contaminants Committee.

The more important items have included continuing work on a review of the use of colouring matter in food and a review of the regulations controlling skimmed milk with non-milk fat, on which its report was published on 19 September 1984.
