asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many representations he has received calling for changes in the present system of television concessionary licences.

Mr. Giles Shaw

Eighty-three hon. Members and 145 members of the public have written in the last three months about the concessionary television licence schemes for retired and disabled people in residential care.

38. Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has had regarding the British Broadcasting Corporation's submission for an increase in the television licence fee.

Some 270 hon. Members and 950 members of the public have written during the current Session about an increase in television licence fees.
