Mr. Ron Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what areas were visited by the special claims control unit in Scotland in 1984; what conclusions were reached; and when the unit next will visit the constituency of Edinburgh, Leith.

Aberdeen (North) Dumbarton Kilmarnock
Glasgow (Parkhead) Dumfries Kirkcaldy
Aberdeen (South) Dundee (West) Motherwell
Glasgow (Partick) Edinburgh (East) Oban
Airdrie Edinburgh (South) Paisley
Glasgow (Queens Park) Elgin Perth
Bathgate Falkirk Peterhead
Glasgow (Southside) Fort William Stirling
Campbeltown Glasgow (Anniesland)
Glasgow (Springburn) Stranraer
Coatbridge Iverness Glasgow (Laurieston)

Benefit was adjusted in 1,001 of the 2,622 cases examined. There are no plans to visit the local office at Edinburgh (North), which covers Leith, during the course of the present programme which runs until the end of April.
