§ Mr. John PattenThe Mental Health Act Commission is, at our request, preparing a draft of the code of practice provided for in section 118 of the Mental Health Act 1983, on the admission of patients under the Act and the treatment of patients suffering from mental disorder. I understand the Commission expects to submit its draft to us by the end of March. We shall then, as required by section 118, consult interested bodies, lay the code before Parliament for approval and publish it.
