HC Deb 28 February 1985 vol 74 c223W
Mr. Tom Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what proposals he is considering for removing any obligations as respects health and safety from employers in small companies in Scotland.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

My right hon. Friend has no such proposals currently before him from the Health and Safety Commission, which advises him on such matters. However, the Government are committed to taking all practicable steps to encourage enterprise and initiative, and we are always ready to consider proposals which can help small businesses while being compatible with the maintenance of health and safety standards at work.
