HC Deb 28 February 1985 vol 74 cc275-6W
Mr. Cohen

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what guidance he gives to local education authorities about the educational aspects of policy on the detection, control and treatment in schools of head lice in schoolchildren.

Mr. John Patten

The control of head lice amongst school children is primarily the responsibility of health authorities through the school health services. The Health Education Council, which is funded by this Department, has produced two pamphlets, for parents and for professionals, on this subject; both of these are available to local education authorities.
