HC Deb 27 February 1985 vol 74 c169W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Energy how many power cuts of more than one hour's duration there have been in England and Wales since October 1984.

Mr. Goodlad

There have been no power cuts because of shortage of generating capacity, though electrical faults do occur from time to time which can cause disruptions of supplies in local areas. I have asked the chairman of the Electricity Council to write to the hon. Member with details of such interruptions that have occurred since October 1984 and have lasted over 1 hour.
