HC Deb 27 February 1985 vol 74 c204W
Mr. Cohen

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will give an undertaking that Her Majesty's Government will not be willing to manufacture in the United Kingdom precursors for binary nerve gas.

Mr. Lee

Such chemicals are widely used for normal and bona fide industrial purposes such as flame retardants and pesticides. On the manufacture of all types of chemical weapons, Her Majesty's Government's position remains as set out by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister at column 901.
