asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will list the number of graduates of electrical and mechanical engineering in each single year since 1979.

The number of university and CNAA first degree graduates of electrical and mechanical engineering in Great Britain were as follows:

1980	5,434
1981	5,973
1982	6,043

The number of CNAA first degree graduates in 1983 is not yet available. The number of university first degree graduates in 1983 was 4,359 compared with 4,159 in 1982.
