HC Deb 25 February 1985 vol 74 c62W
Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment in respect of how many definitive map amendment order objections have been received, since the Wildlife and Countryside Act came into force; how many are still outstanding; and what is the currently envisaged timetable for dealing with outstanding cases.

Mr. Waldegrave

Twenty three opposed definitive map modification orders have been submitted to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State by county surveying authorities since the Wildlife and Countryside Act came into force. 18 are outstanding at the present time.

The outstanding orders are in varying stages of processing, and in several cases the local inquiry has been arranged. One of the decision letters will be issued shortly, and the remainder will be issued as quickly as possible.
