Mr. Nellist

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will give for 1965, 1970, 1975 and 1980 for the city of Coventry (a) the total number of workers employed, (b) the share of jobs in (i) manufacturing industry, (ii) services and (c) losses or gains in the main sectors of employment.

The nearest available information on a consistent basis is from censuses of employment taken annually from 1971 to 1978 and, from 1978, triennially, and is as follows:
