§ Mr. NewtonI am pleased to announce that regulations were laid today which will add these diseases to the schedule of prescribed industrial diseases from 1 April 1985. Benefit will be payable to those in certain specified occupations who suffer from the more severe forms of vibration white finger and to asbestos workers suffering from bilateral diffuse pleural thickening or from lung cancer accompanied by asbestosis or bilateral diffuse pleural thickening.
