asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the increase in gross domestic product over the past 12 months.

The preliminary output based estimate for gross domestic product in the fourth quarter of 1984 was 2 per cent. higher than at the same time a year earlier. GDP in 1984 as a whole however was 2½ per cent. higher than in 1983.
