§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithThe Government have under review the possibilities for additional measures to encourage enhanced oil recovery in accordance with their policy of achieving maximum economic recovery of petroleum from the United Kingdom continental shelf. The Government have an extensive research and development programme, conducted in collaboration with the industry, to help establish and assess the economic effectiveness of the technology in North sea conditions.
