§ Mr. RentonAt the 1984 General Assembly the United Kingdom voted against provision of new conference facilities for the UN Economic Commission for Africa. United Kingdom representatives stressed that at a time of severe economic hardhship in Africa the United Nations should concentrate resources on helping directly to alleviate these conditions.
