§ Ms. Harmanasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will make a statement about the reply given by the Government to section D of part II of the United Nations End of Decade for Women questionnaire;
(2) if he will request the British Broadcasting Corporation and Independent Broadcasting Authority to provide him with the information required by question 2.2 of section D of part II of the United Nations End of Decade for Women questionnaire.
§ Mr. Giles Shaw[pursuant to his replies, 12 February 1985, c. 93]: The Government's reply reflects the constitutional position that editorial and administrative decisions are matters for the broadcasting authorities alone. I shall, however, ask if they can provide the information to which the hon. Member refers and I shall write to her.
