§ Mr. BeithThe six trade unions operating within departments of the House are the Association of First Division Civil Servants, Civil and Public Services Association, Civil Service union, Hotel and Catering Workers' Union — part of the General, Municipal, Boilermakers and Allied Trades union — Institution of Professional Civil Servants, and the Society of Civil and Public Servants. About 590 staff out of the total of approximately 920—about 64 per cent.—are thought to be members of these unions.
