asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many jobs in the Workington travel-to-work area were being supported by the temporary short-time working scheme during the last month for which statistics are available.

There was no potentially redundant jobs for which reimbursement was claimed under the temporary short-time working compensation scheme in December 1984 in the Workington travel-to-work area.

The scheme closed for applications on 31 March 1984.
