§ Mr. MellorThe following table, compiled from figures made available by the Metropolitan Police, gives details of the total number of fixed penalty notices cancelled on grounds of diplomatic immunity for the three year period 1981–83 (which is the latest period for which complete figures are available) broken down by country and organisation.
These figures are a matter for real concern. My right hon. and learned Friend the Foreign Secretary will be covering this subject in his response to the report by the Select Committee on Foreign Affairs on the abuse of diplomatic immunities and priveleges.
