§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimates his Department has made of the consequences for the pound sterling and for national revenue of a $5 per barrel decrease in the price of oil.
§ Mr. MooreNo estimates of the effects of a $5 fall in the price of oil have been made. But the Department does of course keep under review the prospects for tax revenues in the light of current and prospective economic developments, including those in the oil market.
